2014 Shutdown and Review

It is great to be coming to the end of yet another year and we would like to thank all those that have contributed to our ongoing success though your support of our products and innovations. We would like to take this time to highlight a few of the important changes and product upgrades that we have made this year.

SANS 10400-XA and 613 Compliance: Our Winvent® Top Hung and Fixed frame windows are compliant with both SANS 10400-XA (Energy performance) and SANS 613 (air and water filtration/penetration).

  • We are able to provide the Simulated Energy Performance Rating Certification for all design permutations using the Winvent® System in both the Winblok® and Winslot® system on request – confirming compliance with SANS 10400-XA simulation and calculations according to National Fenestration Rating Council (NFRC) and ISO standards.
  • In April of this year we undertook tests with AAAMSA to confirm that our Winvent® product range is compliant in terms of the South African National Standards (SANS) 613 requirements which tests both air filtration and water penetration. We can now confirm that our Winvent® range has successfully been tested in accordance with SANS 613 performance category A1.

Winvent® Product Upgrades

  • We have upgraded the burglar bars range to introduce solid aluminium bars. These are quickly produced and fitted, and also give a better aesthetic look with a neater finish. The biggest benefit is the cost, which has been reduced by around 55% in comparison to the traditional steel bars.
  • The powder coating of Winvent® is now being handled using a different process. We no longer powder coat a complete Winvent®, but are supplied full lengths of extrusions in different colours. This is one of the main reasons why we will not be offering large ranges of colours going forward. We are pleased to say that this process should reduce lengthy lead times on powder coated items and the customer will be happier with the finish they are getting. We are having all powder coating done by SABS approved applicators who carry guarantees on their powder coating. We are now finding that powder coating can compete with the natural anodised prices and is only around 4% more expensive.

Please note our offices will be closed from 12 December to 12 January. We look forward to a project filled 2015 and wish all our customers and suppliers a prosperous 2015.
